One of our customers in Bath asked us if we were able to replace his vertical sliding sashes and large wooden front door without compromising the stunning original features of the property. The pictures below show off some of the original features of the property, including the impressive masonry work.
After several visits to our showroom, we were able to pinpoint the style of sash that would offer the closest match to the existing style. We offer three different variations of sliding sash windows, each A-rated and each with its own individual style (we will be releasing a blog post focused solely on sliding sash windows and the options available before the end of September).
In the end we decided on the following:
– Heritage Sash
– Cream wood-grained finish
– Gold furniture
– Astragal bars to match existing windows
– Easy clean tilt features
Roseview uPVC sash windows may have been designed with authenticity in mind, but not at the cost of modern features and benefits.
The energy-efficient Heritage Rose sash windows are ‘A’ rated as standard. It also offers excellent acoustic performance helping to block out external noise and is PAS 24 accredited, meaning that it is strong and secure. Like every window in the Rose Collection, both sashes tilt inwards to make them easy to clean from the inside. And best of all, Heritage Rose sash windows are easy to operate, very low maintenance and never needs repainting.
We had to remove the original box sash’s from the property which is always a challenge! But one that our fitters always relish. Take a look at some of the before and after photos from this installation.
Utilising the new Palladio Composite door meant that the non-standard width of the existing door wasn’t a problem. Palladio offers the strongest and most secure door in the market and they also offer some beautiful designs with quite unique glass options. In this case, we used Chartwell Green wood-grain and the classic doctors knocker to keep the property in line with the 18th century Georgian architecture.
We really enjoy working on these sorts of properties, where you can stand back at the end and think ‘WE DID THAT!!’. We’d like to thank the customer again for being a joy to work with and for their problem solving abilities when faced with some issues surrounding the stones supports! Along with our fitters for ensuring a clean finish to inside and outside the property.

We are delighted with the windows. As you know we were concerned that they would look different and more “clunky” but really you can’t tell the difference except that the new ones are not falling apart!!! The guys who did the fitting were also good. They were working in freezing fog, really cold but they carried on regardless, they were extremely tidy and cleared up after themselves.
I am delighted with the recent installation, it’s good to look out of clear windows. The work was carried out professionally by two excellent gentleman.
